As spring came
I stepped off into the DISTANCE
Winter was my touch
She was my MISTRESS
I would MISS THIS
What ever THIS IS
Some say she bore the color
Of the suns perfection
Goddess like red tones of copper burnt BROWN
Reminiscent of the fall
As autumn leaves begin to cover the GROUND
Laying fourth the FOUND-ations
For my BIRTH
I was born into the struggle
And have been caste to play the part
Of the coldest moments on EARTH
Though it is within these times
In which we all choose to plant seeds
In hopes that they will one day
Grow to know their WORTH
Yet that is another story of love in SEARCH
Because weather you are Summer
And I am Winter, falling victim
To the warmth
Of loves EMBRACE
Or if I were to become the moon
Cursed forever to CHASE night into DAY
Just to BECOME one with the SUN
So that some of us
May become fortunate enough to SAY
That a "love" with infinite possibilities
Will leave room for no ESCAPE
Its been known to move mountains on earth
And gravitate planets in SPACE
A wise King once told me
The key to keep it all in PLACE
Was to make sure the way we RELATE
Is to be open and honest communication BASED
No longer a step AHEAD
But rather a step together INSTEAD.

Permalink Reply by Seattle Iese on January 25, 2012 at 11:16pm Yes, the "what if" can be torture at times.... I was told "its better to regret the things done, then to look back and say WHAT IF" These are two poems in a three poem series, I felt like I had written so much about revolution, and fighting the system, when at its essence, change comes through love... "At the risk of sounding ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by feelings of love." Che Guavara :)
one thing i love about this is the celestial references to the moon..
Your poetry has a strong sense of equality. Like nothing can exist on it's own. Everything/everyone exists with counterpart.
"Goddess like red tones of copper burnt BROWN"
another fave part.. imagery of beautiful skin tones...
loving the whole peice!
Permalink Reply by Seattle Iese on January 25, 2012 at 11:10pm DOC, you got it, right on the nail!!!! The world of dualities, thier is no night without day, sun with out the moon, man with out woman, all is essential for life to continue, everything in moderation, everything in balance. A well balanced meal, life, workload, balance is key. I Mean you even picked out the Revelation 1:14 influenced "Goddess like red tones of copper burnt BROWN" (Hair of wool, feet of burnt bronze). Thank you for the read :D
