WOW my bro and I were just discussing this topic a few days ago. Only because Im contemplating getting my tatt that i already have extended into a sleeve. A femanine design that defines who i am as a person my roots, fam and of cours7e my culture. The only thing is i wasnt sure whether or not it was appropriate for me as a girl i mean WOMAN lol to get it done??

Would be very interesting to see what others responses would be!

im surrreee we had this discussion before but newhos when i saw "SLIVE" i was like dayum is this guy talkin abowt "Samoa Live"?? LMAOOOOO.. but im gettin the drift its "Sleeve" :azz:

so ive heard from a few peepz that a sleeve on a woman is not appropriate becoz the sleeve tattoo is more of a status/symbol for samoan men.. I like what Kas sed: if the woman can get a Malu than why shouldnt they get a sleeve soooooooo tru and the fact that its up to the individual that if they are comfortable and 100% sure they wanna get one well go 4 gold..

But with Caveman i get wat ur sayin that the chick from Miami Ink can rock owt a sleeve tattoo but i think wit this convo is more should a samoan women rock owt a samoan patterned sleeve tattoo?? Chicks can rock owt any tattoo on their sleeve arm wateva you wanna call it :lol: but 4 me personally i dnt think a samoan patterned sleeve tattoo on a samoan woman would look good ae.. i dunno i guess coz we are so used to seeing the multiple designs and massive patterns on a massive guys arm i cant imagine a chick rockin it owt the same way it representz on a guy... i dunno coz when a see a sleeve tatto i immediately think masculinity ummm, mens status, or men identifying themselves thru these patterns, i never see it as a "woman thing" or "womanz identification"... i rekon if the woman wanna get the sleeve tattoo i rekon it should be done the more feminine way... you see how the Maori men and woman have their tattooz on their arms,legs,face etc but you see the patterns on the guys are slightly different to the onez the woman have... the womanz ones are slightly less thicker umm the patternz are different and they way they are designed for men and woman are different to.. so yea i just rekon the samoan sleeve should have like separate designs for each gender.. coz put it this way can u imagine a chick havin the sleeve tattoo THE ROCK has on her body??? :huh: or the sleeve tattoo Sonny Bill Williams has on a chicks body??

I think its up to the lady thats getting the tattoo , if it adds on to her self confidence than its her decision .Its a rare thing to see Island girl with sleeves thou , but from a Samoan artist point of view, if the woman can get a Malu than why shouldnt they get a sleeve. Es

Ok ladies this is just my own opinion that I will like to share about this particular topic and I don't mean no offence to anyone..

Tattoos as we all know is a form of art, it is part of our tradition regarding the traditional tatau/malu. However sleeve tattoo on a female is a rare sight but I guess our times are changing where the trends and styles are in the mix. Sleeves will always look hot on a guy but for girls it all depends. Some may look attractive where others will fail to potray that look haha..

BUT

hey this is just my own opinion so galz if you already have a sleeve tattoo then ROCK ON sisdaz :)

I have only seriously seen 2 girls whose bodies, faces & everything makes the sleeve look really attractive & countless amounts of girls who have them & just look like straight stepped outta their ma'umaga & said to someone...come draw on me so I look like a aikae :rotfl: (skuse if your one of them) but honestly...if you can pull it off then go hard & represent but dont convince yourself that you look good in one unless you KNOW for certain cause its so much more expensive to get it removed :lol:

Its so true about sleeve tattoos representing masculinity,so cant picture Nicole Kidman or Tyra Banks with a sleeve bahaha..
