Faafafine okay? Samoa is still thinkin about it...

I'm so confused. Where exactly does Samoa stand on the matter of Fa'afafine?

With the gender so prevalent in our islands, so accepted by our people, especially with Uncle Tui (Samoa's (in)famous prime minister Tuilaepa that is) even declaring himself the patron of the Fa'afafine association, who'da thought Samoa actually has a law against female impersonation....

There's also a law against sodomy, but according to Fa'afafine Association president Roger Stanley, don't confuse female impersonation with h***sexuality.

I 100% agree with her! Him.

Samoa considers decriminalising female impersonations

Samoa's transgender community has welcomed proposed government reforms to allow men to partake in 'female impersonations'.

But the country's main transgender association says it hopes outsiders will not take advantage of the proposed changes to the 50-year-old Crimes Act.

"We don't want it to open up doors to h***sexuality or gay men who are willing to just come in and think they can have a relationship with other men openly," Fa'afafine Association President Roger Stanley told Pacific Beat.

Mr Stanley said his group's roots were embedded in Samoan culture rather than the international gay community, and that Fa'afafine members' sexuality was not necessarily linked to h***sexuality.

"We stick to our traditional and our very native exhibition of the work of a female," he said.

"It's our chosen roles that we decided to act like women and perform women's chores. But not necessarily our sexual orientation, I think that's something else."

Nicely written. Yes we have a choice who we want to be. However we are born male or female;white,black,native american and so forth. You can't change that. Our behavior patterns can be based on the environment we live in but the nature of our identity can never be changed (it is what we are and not what we want to become). God hates sin period. No doubt about that. But you must also understand that God hates a corrupt nature because He created man and woman for what they are suppose to be and not the oposite. We all know about God's judgement (it is perfect). No one is perfect but Jesus. And finally yes God loves everyone.

God hates sin? - are you serious? He didn't create sin so how can he hate it? Yes we have choice but choice was afforded to us by God - it is up to ourselves to know when and how we have sinned - that we are doing wrong to ourselves. Jesus was just as imperfect as you and I - only he was one of few who had the balls to say so.

Yes God does love everyone - so let's return the favour and do the same.

Whoa.

Euphoria, ignore APM he(?)'s like... grumpy.

I think what he was so offended by, though, is your take on the concept of God & sin.

According to just about every denomination in the general Christian faith (i.e. the Bible) God hates sin but not the sinner... what's open to interpretation is what 'hate' means in this context (remember the Bible was translated a few times before it got to English speakers) .. but i digress.

Another thing we believe is that Christ, as the only begotten Son of God, was (is) sinless. It's the only way He is able to be our Saviour and Redeemer (i.e. save us from the consequences of our sin).

I'm not sure what the source is for your information about who Jesus was and did, but we're obviously not reading from the same books lol.

Anyway, APM et al. This discussion aint about religion... it's about faafafige and laws in Samoa. How about we stay focused?

APM, i understand exactly what u said, thanks - everybody who has an opinion different from yours is ignorant and stupid and has no brains. I also get that your intelligence and holiness puts you at a higher spiritual level than the rest of us mortals, forgive us for questioning the mouthpiece of God.

My comments were directed at Euphoria, though, my purpose to examine the difference between her point of view and that of general Christianity.

Perhaps if you punctuated your superiority with some Christ-like patience and charity, your message might actually be received as something of a little more merit than hate, self-righteousness and h***phobia.

Just a thought.

I'm afraid you are wrong. You must be a liberal. That seems to be the thing of now a days to be. People say what they want to say and do what they want to do without no repercussions. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE GAY COMMUNITY, ABORTION CLINICS, SAME SEX MARRIAGES, THE EMERGENT CHURCH, WORD OF FAITH MINISTRIES AND OTHER LIKE MINDED ORGANIZATIONS ARE ALL ABOUT. Evidently you didn’t interpret what I said correctly. I am not superior but rather down to earth. I was simply saying that we are born into this world male and female and what ever race you are, you can not change that. I know this topic is not about religion. My response to my religious view was in cross reference to what “FOBSTERZ or SPAM” what ever he or she change their name to be (His or her interpretation of Christianity is different from what I see just like you).. This is no riddle and it’s not something you need to try to figure out. This is not just a statement but a clarification also. And more thing HGG I don’t like when people talk from the side of there mouths. If you want to make a comment in regards to EUPHORIA then so be it. Just don’t bring my name up when you are talking to EUPHORIA.

Lol @ liberal. You might want to look the word up again cause you seem to enjoy sticking that label on everything that's different from you.

I do apologize if it sounded like I was trying to explain your religion to Euphoria. I was only trying to understand why your comments to her were so angry, from the perspective of my own faith. Anger is often fuelled by fear. Just like you, we're all expressing our own beliefs (religious or otherwise) here... what are you afraid of APM? That other people's opinions might begin to make sense?

When topics such as gays, lesbians, fafafine's and so fourth...you name it... adultery, rape, pornography....is discussed or given to an audience to prospect the topic....as usual the issue gets into a heated conversation...but not knowing were missing the mark...it all defines as "sin" in the Word of God the Bible, which many do not read or care to...everyone, yes is definitely entitled to their own opinion, religious or non-religious...but the fact of the matter is...one day we all will answer to God...now I know everyone reading this is not a believer of the Bible or Jesus...but allow me to say this, that one day we all will be accountable for our choices and decisions we make here on earth...people don't just become who they are because one day they decided too...their is an invisible influence of good and bad in the unseen world....and yes again, I know it may sound korny...but let me say this before I get off the subject of this discussion, Faafafine's: The guy wanting to be a girl is who God loves and cares for....to be a girl and your a guy is plain "sin"-sin is what God hates, not the person and again only God can judge...we can only love them and pray for them...
