Ok so for this one its RUGBY LEAGUE vs GRIDIRON?!
Rugby League:
13 Players on the field.
4 Players on the bench
10 interchanges/substitutes each game
80 minute game (40 min halves)
Positions consist of the "Backs" which in this case are known as the "smaller, faster, sneaky dudes" on the field who make up the 1st half of the team which are:
1. Fullback
2. Winger
3. Centre
4. Centre
5. Winger
6. Five Eighth
7. Halfback
Following positions consist of the "Forwards" who are the bigger, staunch, a mix of lil young gun who make up the 2nd half of the team which are:
8. Prop
9. Hooker/Dummy Half
10. Prop
11. Second Rower
12. Second Rower
13. Loose Forward
In a game of Rugby League the points systems are as follows:
Try = 4 Points
Conversion = 2 Points
Penalty Kick = 2 Points
Field Goal = 1 Point
Points get scored by carry or kick a ball down a field, crossing the ball over the opponent's goal line and grounding the ball which is a try. After a try, the scoring team gains a free kick to try at goal with a conversion – a kick for further points. The opposing team attempts to stop the attacking side gaining points by preventing their progress up the field by tackling the player carrying the ball.
Field position is crucial in rugby league, achieved by running with or kicking the ball. Passing in rugby league may only be in a backward or sideways direction. Players have to remain "on-side" by not moving ahead of the player with the ball. However the ball may be kicked ahead for teammates, but again, if they are in front of the kicker they are deemed "off-side." Tackling is a key component of rugby league play. Only the player holding the football may be tackled. A tackle is completed when that player's progress is halted, or he is put to ground. An attacking team gets a maximum of six tackles to progress up the field before possession is changed over. Ball control is also important in rugby league, as a fumble or "knock on" of the ball on the ground forces a handover, unless the ball is fumbled backwards.The ball can also be turned over by going over the sideline.
In rugby league we dont use padding, the only source of protection is a headgear or mouthguard.
Ok ima be honest i dnt no jack all abowt Gridiron hahahaha, but to the natives in here that DO, plz break it down 4 me and to the natives in here that DO enjoy both codes and wanna feedback on both codes PLEASE answer the following questions:

Permalink Reply by Retep Buttons on January 7, 2012 at 3:36am well lets see hmm rugby league you get five chances to score and its basically 4 hitups and then kick so yea boring plain and easy,now gidiron you get 4 chances to make ten yards and you have to work out a way to get the ball either over the ten yards or score,hence the thick ass playbooks you have to learn and roles you have to play in your team..so rugby league no brainer and gridiron is a game of smarts and big plays so yea league sux and gridiron will always win and by the way the hits are harder and if you dont believe me well i have a spare set of pads here so wen you have the balls like they say in league run it straight auuuuuu ahahahahahaha...tep.
no argument there i guess aye uso?..well if its an invitation to come suss out ur set of spare pads, i strongly recommend you suit up with all the PROTECTION that requires in gridiron and make a play that wont put ur body in danger..i mean that is why gridiron players use PROTECTION for aint it?? nevertheless..both sports r physical..we are a fast pace game and atleast u got something right..WE DO RUN IT STRAIGHT!! alu iai!! LEAGUE 4 LIFE
Permalink Reply by tigershark on January 23, 2012 at 8:54am If you step back and take a good look at either game, it involves men chasing men with balls :whistle: Now, that may appeal to woman, but for men to take a keen interest? Well....kind of G-A-Y if you ask me :lol: (jokes)
