Worldwide Samoan Community Online
As most of you know, this site was born in March 2008.. and according to my counting fingers, we're just around the corner from a birthday - 3 years!

That doesn't sound like very long, huh... but then I was just cruising through the ville for the first time in ages.. and realized that so many things have changed in the lives of our Natives even in the short time that we've been online.

For example... our friend Kilifi (Screaming Tree) Fretton went from party guy in Melbourne, Australia, to caretaker for his grandmother in Apia, Samoa, to the P.A. for the big boss at the Samoa Tourism Authority, to altruistic fund raiser at the Senese School for children with disabilities. That guy has definitely been busy!

I know of many Natives who've taken the plunge and got married (some even to people they met on here, yay!) and many more who have produced offspring in the last 3 years... and no, I'm not talking about USB babies *sigh* ...

We've had a few tragedies, too, amongst our online family. Beloved parents passed away, promising relationships hit the rocks, major natural disasters left heartbreaking devastation ... and heartwarming displays of support and love.

'Three' is such a little number, but with all the stories I've heard in the ville - all the LIFE I've been privileged to witness - I've learned just how much can happen in 3 short years.

What were YOUR major milestones?

Ok, ok.. I'll start :)

For me ... let's see...

I was working with youth in 2008 - providing employment skills training for school leavers. I was playing around on my laptop that long Easter weekend when I found Ning and had the bright idea to put together a social network for Samoans lol.. it took almost three days straight to format and code stuff... i refused to do anything else till it was done lol.. *SIGH*

I went from youth trainer to full time entreprenuer, working with business partners to get our (education based) company up and running.. then at the end of 2009, after the tragic tsunami in Samoa, and as subtley documented in my blog, I experienced an epiphany. I wasn't happy.. My heart wasn't in anything I was doing at the time.. I wasn't LIVING, I was just taking up space... I knew I needed a major change... SO

I dropped everything (that sounds so simple huh lol.. it was so not simple) and went back to church first... cause that's what you call priorities :) ... then I went back to university at the beginning of 2010 ... and there I am now doing a Bachelor in Science (yes I had to start my studies all over again) majoring in physics... trying to get into the engineering program, actually. Most of my classmates are like half my age (never mind what that is lol) and I'm constantly finding myself out of my comfort zone these days ...

... but I'm happier now than I think I've ever been. Which is the moral of my story :)

Ok.. over to you. What have you been up to in the last 3 years?
What were YOUR major milestones?
For me, on a personal level it would be; - not to hurt my kids and then feel something towards hurting myself, base learning method was helping self, when proper came to aid.. Rapturing some sort of learning skin out of it, I guess. "TO ALWAYS, ALWAYS REMEMBER!".. hehee..

acceptance is something I'[m very shy with, so been accepted as part of this World-wide online family atmosphere was something, I've taken a lot of consideration thought off, before enhaling myself a TELL (it) ALL si'usi'u, lol,lol,lol.. one does thinking, while most crowd non-thinking.. hahaa.. sorry, sorry... No1 can really comprehend the type of senile things we go through in life, but; - 3rd Party TRUSTEE is what my milestone -just- might be all about.. hehee..

brb, Noms & The Boys.. :( xox` ...
ooh' (BHAH!)!.. okay *GG*, I just read you're one and yeah, I've just realised, I get what you mean now, lol,lol,lol.. gotdah drop the tamaitis to school, think long and hard about it and come back, :shy: *tti*.. still think, 'acceptance' and 'truste' butt..
Aaawww... we love you here Lilah! :D

Lol... ok, waiting for your 'real' reply!
aui; - :unsure:, I love you more *GG*, the kids and self..{if the kids came to know, em' things, I be insane over, lol,lol.. they will most certainly love you hep! lol,lol..}

I guess, my milestone would have to be the TREE OF LIFE!.. hahaa,
cause; - I mean, I ain't searching for God, as far as I know, I've already found him, there's a lot of FURY in me, the kind off FURY, you would never think, could BLOW T up an entire 'state' building, but' Oh' my GOSH, who does that and has a day named after him, Mr GUY FORKS', you know - that thing.. new zealanders take a lot of pride in every year, hahaa and stays tune in to holidays over it.. lol,.. hahaa, hahaa..sorry, sorry...

if I was to think of a milestone, the stone would be the car and the mile would be the years it's taken me to like; - cap, recap, think, sort and do a lot of things catting that under my arm chasing FLYING 'ning' CAR,.. lol,lol..*argh* brb; :shy: lol,...there's no real LOGIT' haha, hahaa.. answer for me, as this point in time, se'i matutua tamaitis atonu ma fola ai le ulu maua ai se tali, a ea'.. hehee, hehee. xox`
Shucksz... I hadnt found 1sa in 08... I only signed up like May of last year and ive met so many wonderful people on here... And a few peeps that made me pull the o.O face lol but a pleasureable experience all the same, even tho i've only been a member for a little over a year even ive seen many many things going on in here... Its definitely like a virtual days of our lives saga... Lol

Just saying...

I was residing in Rarotonga, Cook Islands in '08 so i wasnt even on facebook lol..

Your awesome tho miss HGG!!! Ur an inspiration!!
For me 1sa has always been there during my studies, it was another support line because I've been able to reflect and blog about my own experiences as a student and share my knowledge. It's been a blast going through that and being part of 1sa at the same time.

And now, I completed my studies, sat the state finals, got my registration and working at one of the 5 major hospitals in NZ. So those have been my milestones since I signed up in 08 *fist pumps the air* lol. 1sa has always been there from day 1, whether I needed a laugh, or to reflect on my own studies and practice, to share knowledge and even for research lol. So I'm glad to have had 1sa take part in my journey and look forward to making more milestones now that I have seen there's a "love dating thingy" on here lmao shot HGG!!

1luv everyone :D
