Okay guys,
Take in a movie (or rent one, or if you already own one)...and afterwards, put on your thinking caps and see if you can come up with a hook (the logline) for the movie you just watched.

When you've done this, get back on this discussion board, list your movie and then your logline.

Don't worry if you think it's silly, crazy, whatever...it's just an exercise.

PS: Let's see who can write a creative logline that will make us want to check out that flick!

***Samples***

Here are some samples from scripts written.

"A teenage girl battles with ancient, mind-controlling parasites, overcoming crippling delusions to save her friends and herself."
(Shy by Don Riemer)

"When night falls, a demolition crew must fight to escape an infamous abandoned hospital."
(I.C.U. by Eric Reynolds).

"An eccentric monk must figure out why a golem is attacking pilgrims before they're killed off one by one."
(Chaucer's Pilgrimage of Blood by James Ivan Greco & David Folmar).

So a logline is only one sentence right?

I think I have the idea, but could you do me yet another favour and give us a sample?

Pretty please...?

:)
Sure...this is actually the logline from a screenplay I wrote titled "The Alternate."

A gifted athlete resorts to deceitful behavior in order to maintain her scholarship.

Now, I don't know if that's going to have moviegoers dash to the box office...but it might spark the curiousity of the script reader for the production company. If the reader finds it interesting, he/she may want to read the whole script.

There are so many scripts out there...you need to find something that will set you aside from the other screenwriters.

Write on!
