Setting the scene...shot at the Nadi airport in Fiji...heat wave of 45 degrees celcius...young polynesian in a navy blue suit leaving first class...arrives complaining and cursing....being escorted out to the customs by two fijian soldiers the height of two tiki log carvings you would normally see in a Museum with the twinkle of that colgate smile...both men were reduced to being well toned, well tanned muscle heads when she turned to both of them and yelled, how would you like it if your sisters bags or your mother or even aunty's bag were lost by the airline....she demanded to speak to the manager at the airport.....both men were submissive to the angry tone in the young womans voice as her face became enraged, eyes swollen with the nerve about to bounce out from the corner of her forehead ...the soldiers hung their heads low as if they were being disciplined by their employer for gross professional misconduct.....

The young woman was furious at the fact that she had to delay her trip to get home for christmas because the flight had to be grounded and diverted from Los Angeles, and two of the airlines have now misplaced her luggage and sent them on a direct flight to NZ....now she could miss out on the christmas festivities planned ahead of time with her family as she refuses to board the next available flight because she had to pay and extra tax duty and ....she may well arrive without her presents for members of her family...including an 83 year old grandmother who arrived a week before from Samoa to celebrate their combined birthdays.....

The idea did not even cross her mind that she may need to pay for a hotel that day in Nadi or that she would not have a change of clean clothes.  The only luggage she had in the cabin with her consisted of a sarong, one set of clean underwear and a bra and sunglasses.  She didnt even have deoderant, moisteriser, sunblock or a hat.

She was still dressed in her work clothes from catching her flight at Heathrow airport in London timing it to make the christmas dinner reunion with other family members arriving from all corners of the globe.  It would be the first get together with her family, since the passing of her mother 5 years ago.....
